Cadillac Lyriq EV Sells Out in 10 Minutes

Published

on

Cadillac’s new electric vehicle Lyriq EV sold out on registrations in minutes despite the hefty price tag of USD60,000.

According to General Motors Vice President Rory Harvey, the automobile company originally noted 19 minutes for the reservations on the Lyric EV. The reservation slots were full in 10 minutes only.

The sellout was reportedly not unexpected even if Lyriq is an expensive EV, but the promise of 300-plus miles of range, 190kW fast charging and a 33-inch infotainment display may have lured potential buyers.

However, despite the sellout, reservations don’t always make it to the final purchase as some potential buyers back out of the transaction even after they have already reserved a unit for themselves.

Cadillac did not provide a number of how many reservations were made for the Lyric EV.

More Debut Edition models will be available through dealers in summer 2022.
