The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), in its Cebu Business Month celebration, is holding an Advocacy Fair at Active Zone, Ayala Center Cebu until June 27.
17 prominent non-government organizations (NGOs) in Cebu display their booths in the area. They are Movement for a Liveable Cebu/ Youth for a Liveable Cebu, Kythe Foundation, Inc., Ayala Business Club, Inc., Philippine Red Cross-Cebu Chapter, Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., Juanito I. King Foundation, Inc., Coalition for Better Education, Creative Council Cebu, Dilaab Foundation, Inc., World Vision-Philippines, Kaabag sa Sugbo, Alay Lakad Foundation, Inc., and Mega Cebu.

Government organizations like Mandaue City-NGO Accreditation, National Bureau of Investigation Central Visayas Office, Land Transportation Office Regional Office 7, and National Statistics Office Regional Office 7 have also booths available for consultations.

“Businesses and NGOs keep their opportunity to collaborate making sure of the development and the welfare of the community. Cebu Chamber of Commerce is your platform, it’s your springboard for this collaboration. The synergy of private sector’s entrepreneurial spirit and NGO’s passion of volunteerism is a powerful tool to realize programs and projects for the good of the community and of Cebu,” said Mary Anne Alcordo-Solomon, CBM 2013 Advocacy Committee Chair.

CCCI’s Advocacy Fair is the first in the business month celebration. The fair was conceptualized to establish linkages between the public and CCCI partner non-government organizations (NGOs) or non-partner NGOs of Cebu for a possible advocacy matching.

It is a relevant trend for companies and firms today to conduct corporate social image to the public and NGOs welcome support or assistance for the implementation and sustainability of their respective advocacies.

The fair hopes to promote corporate social responsibility of Cebu’s business community through collaboration with the like-minded NGOS through the generation of collaborative projects for the welfare of the greater community. (With Press Release)
