Bus Operators in Cebu to Use Cashless Payment Method

Bus and mini-bus operators will now have to use cashless payment method in their operations after it was ordered by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.

Garcia already signed and executive order stating that bus owners should sign a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Topline Hi-Tech and Synergy Corportation. The two mentioned are authorized service providers.

Machines will be placed around the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) and a card, with cash load will serve as payment for bus tickets.

Topline and the provincial government of Cebu has a contract regarding the new ticketing system in CSBT.

Garcia said operators who fail to adapt to the new system, their bus units will be barred entry from the terminal premises. (MLC)
