Binisaya Film Fest Kicks Off with a Party

The BINISAYA Film Festival kicks off this year with a party this coming Friday July 4, 2014. The party will be at the Handuraw Pizza Gorordo and will be spearheaded by Bomba Press with its media partner MetroCebuNews.

The rockin’ bands in the party include Teetan, HerInAfter, Paltik and The Pervs.

BINISAYA, run by a group of filmmakers, is a movement that promotes “BINISAYA films” by screening films in traditional and no- traditional forms of exhibition. It holds an annual event in Cebu City promoting best independent films from the Visayan region and neighboring provinces.

The first BINISAYA Film Festivals started at 2009 and has continued annually during the last quarter of the year.

This year already promises to be different as the organizers plan to bring a portion of the event at Cebu’s historically important Cebuano movie theater in the heritage downtown area. Screenings will be free of entrance.

The festival will also feature Keith Deligero’s latest film Iskalawags (2013).
