Balik Cebu Booth Now Open

Balikbayans coming from the different countries who are coming in the city at this jiffy can now arrange their itinerary for local tour packages and buy tickets for different activities for the Sinulog celebration this year.

This, as the city government here through its Cebu City Tourism Commission or CCTC officially opened its ‘Balik Cebu Booth’ this Wednesday morning January 6, 2016 at the Rotunda Area 1 near the Concierge of Ayala Center Cebu.

CCTC chairperson Tetta Baad shared that the ‘Balik Cebu Booth’ which is open until January 17 is part of their their Balik Cebu program this year.

Now on its 15th year, the CCTC chairperson underscored that the Balik Cebu Program was conceptualized to address the market segment of the Balikbayans coming in this city during the Sinulog celebration.

Baad bared that they are expecting a growing number of Balikbayans coming from the different countries such as the United States of America, Japan, Taiwan, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, and Europe.

She further stressed that they will have Balikbayan Flights Airport Welcome on January 13 and 14 for their repeat visitors and other guests at the Mactan Cebu International Airport, adding that they will treat them for a Welcome Dinner on January 14 at the Ayala Terraces.

Asked for what is something new this year, Baad enthuses that the Balik Cebu Program especially the Welcome Dinner will have the theme of the Cebu’s new brand which is “Cebu: Where the Heart Sings”. It will showcase the Heritage of Cebu in music, songs, dances and Festivals with the Cebuano talents.

The grand opening of Balik Cebu Booth was graced by Cebu Provincial vice governor Agnes Magpale, other personnel from the CCTC and the city government, representatives from Ayala Center Cebu, some Finalists of Miss Cebu 2016, members of the local media, and the general public, among others.
