(PNA) — Naval units are now tracking down a lawless group who abducted three foreigners from the Oceanview Resort, Barangay Camudmud, Babak, Samal Island Monday night.

The incident took place at 10:30 p.m., Joint Task Group Sulu commander Brig. Gen. Alan Arrojado said.

Snatched were the Norwegian manager of the resort, a Canadian, and a tourist of still unknown nationality.

“Two Japanese tourists tried to intervene but failed (to stop the suspects),” Arrojado added.

At the time of the attack, there were more or less 30 tourist visitors in the area.

The lawless elements immediately fled to a still unknown direction with their captives aboard a motorized banca.

Three Navy gunboats, PG-390, PS-32 and PG-381, are now conducting barrier and pursuit operations against the bandits. (PNA) JBP/PFN
