Alden Richards Is The Biggest Male Movie Star Now

Published

on

Fil-Am Alden Richards just turned 24 last Jan. 2 as “Pambansang Bae”, or national baby. But is now considered as the most important male showbiz find as he wades into a sea of commercials and print ads since he and Maine Mendoza were accidentally paired as AlDub in what Joey De Leon termed as GMA Network Kalyeserye in midyear of 2015.

Being Richard Reyes Faulkerson, Jr. in real life, the 5’11” television actor, host, model and recording artist of GMA 7 has essayed roles in in Alakdana, Tween Hearts, One True Love, Carmela, The Road, and the famous live Kalyeserye segment of Eat Bulaga! which catapulted him and Yaya Dub Mendoza to unprecedented fame.

The current biggest male talent of GMA Network should be named the Metro Manila Filmfest Festival Box Office King, said the very talented Eat Bulaga host Vic Sotto on Tuesday’s show.

That is if the movie My Bebe Love becomes the box office champion also.

Undoubtedly, Alden is the most sought after endorser and male showbiz personality nowadays.

One proof is Miss Universe Pia Wurtsbach admitted that she asked the ALDUB Nation to vote through text for her which could have been a big,big factor in her victory over Miss Colombia, aside from her intelligent answers to the judges’ queries.

Our third Miss Universe champion said that she would like to work with Alden as her leading man if she will be able to make a movie but other things are shaping up fast for the Fil-German beauty .

Movie director, stage actor and writer Nestor Torre has advised that Alden and Maine should start seriously learning the craft of acting, singing, dancing, hosting and other talent or skill they have because they must have something to lean on after all the shouting has died down.

Reports had it on Tuesday that My Bebe Love, starring Alden and Yaya Dub, supported by Vic Sotto and comedienne Ai Ai de lasAlas, is still packing moviegoers in several cinemas over the other MMFF entries and that The Beauty and the Bestie of gay actor Vice Ganda is closing in the money gap with its strong showing.

The two movies are said to have earned more than Php 839 million together with My Bebe Love having the upper hand with more than one half of the earnings belonging to it, even if there have been accusations and rumors that some SM Cinemas have tried the trick of giving ALDUB fans My Bestie tickets so the latter would not find too many empty seats.

The vigilant ALDUB Nation and their movie director complained about the anomaly and SM readily apologized within a short time before taking down its message from the screen.

However, Vice Ganda’s never ending all media campaign to retain his title as the highest earning movie for the past two years has him claiming to be the tills winner even if the real topnotcher will be announced on Thursday .

Since the MMFF started in the last week of December 2015, My Bebe Love was miles ahead of its competitors as the ALDUB Nation went into full force of support for their new screen idols.

The Beauty and the Bestie employed the charm of Coco Martin in trying to offset the rampaging and phenomenal AlDUB partnership.

The question is how long will Alden and Maine cling on to their phenomenal popularity that has won the hearts of many countries where Filipinos are located as well as Taiwan and South Korea where some of their icons have asked whether ALDUB is an animal pet.

The fact that BBC, CNN and other foreign news agencies have paid on the couple that produced a very unusual count of more than 50 million texts bespeaks of ALDUB’s worldwide appeal.

In May 2013, he released his debut album, Alden Richards (EP), under Universal Records.

GMA Network said in 2014, Richards became an endorser of Belo Medical Group. Richards was on the cover of the February 2014 issue of Men’s Health Philippines magazine. Richards appeared on the cover of Chalk Magazine’s May 2014 issue. Also in 2014, Richards was part of YES! magazine’s The Sexy Dozen list alongside actors from GMA Network and other channels. Richards has also appeared in several print ads of local clothing brands including Boardwalk.

Richards appeared on the September 2015 issue of FHM Philippines. He also graced the covers of Inside Showbiz for its October 2015 issue, and of Mega Man for its November 2015 issue.

Richards, together with the cast of Kalyeserye, was featured on the November 2015 issue of YES! magazine. In December 2015, Richards and Mendoza appeared on the covers of Reader’s Digest Asia, a special issue of YES! magazine, Inside Showbiz. and PeopleAsia.
