Accenture has received the first EDGE Move Certification in the Philippines from Economic Dividends for Gender Equality (EDGE), a leading global assessment methodology and business certification standard for gender equality. Accenture received the certification in recognition of its industry-leading initiatives that promote gender equality and foster an inclusive workplace for the more than 50,000 people it employs in the Philippines.

“As a people-focused company and the employer of choice in the information technology and business process management industry, Accenture is honored to receive the EDGE Move Certification, which is a testament to our unwavering commitment in creating a work environment that fosters equality and embraces diversity across all levels in our organization,” said Lito Tayag, country managing director of Accenture in the Philippines. “This recognition serves as an inspiration for us to continue implementing programs that help our people thrive and succeed in a workplace where they are accepted and feel a real sense of belonging.”

Accenture worked on the EDGE Move Certification with the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment, which is comprised of companies that implement initiatives to improve gender equity in their workplaces and in the business communities in which they operate. Accenture was assessed based on its initiatives in the areas of recruitment and career advancement, leadership and mentoring, gender composition, flexible work arrangements, and paternity and maternity leave; on its policies and practices that ensure an equitable career for employees, regardless of their gender; and on an online employee survey to capture their perception of the company’s gender-equality efforts.

The EDGE Move Certification comes at the heels of Accenture’s No. 1 ranking on the global Thomson Reuters Diversity & Inclusion Index in September 2018.
