The Travel Line Makes for Picturesque Journeys

Designed for the visual creatives and adventurous folks, Peak Design’s latest collection known as The Travel Line is unmatched in its tech-friendly, versatile, organizing, and aesthetic features and is now up for grabs on Kickstarter.

The Travel Line consists of the Travel Backpack 45L with five accompanying Packing Tools. These were created as a modular system that ensures safe, personalized packing for camera equipment and other personal belongings be it for a trip to the seas or a trek up the summits.

The Travel Backpack 45L is made of weather-proof nylon canvas and comes with a shock-resistant bottom. It offers a plenitude of inner pockets as well as side, back, front, and top access that makes for easy gear-grabbing. The backpack can also be worn as a duffel bag and is purchasable in sage or black.

Contrary to its name, the Travel Backpack 45L is only 35 liters at its standard state; this ensures that the standard carry-on luggage size for travels abroad is complied with. Opening the expansion zipper of the bag is what triggers the maximum 45L capacity.

The five Packing Tools on the other hand were built to complement the backpack, and help keep luggage well-organized, from camera equipment to wardrobe. These tools include a set of three Camera Cubes, a pair of Packing Cubes, a Wash Pouch, a Tech Pouch, and a Shoe Pouch.

The set of three Camera Cubes comes in small, medium, and large sizes. As the name implies, these cubes are square containers with a system of dividers, and are particularly designed to house camera gear from DSLRs to lenses. This tool is secure inside the backpack, but can be used as a stand-alone case as well.

In small and medium sizes are the pair of Packing Cubes. Each cube features a full outer zipper and internal dividers. It also boasts an expansion-compression zipper making for versatile containers.

The Wash Pouch is a kit specifically made for storing toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deodorant, and other such materials used for washing or bathing. The Tech Pouch is hefty for organizing tech gadgets and equipment such as cables, chargers, memory cards, among others, and also features the iconic origami-style dividers. Lastly, the ultralight and weather-proof Shoe Pouch is built to separate dirty shoes and clothing from clean gear and items.

Peak Design’s backpack is available as a stand-alone for a price of 235 to 300 USD, while the backpack paired with packing tools costs 399 USD and can go up to 545 USD. It is also possible to purchase only select packing tools, with each tool costing within 25 to 90 USD.

Peak Design is an active crowdfunded company. Apart from The Travel Line, they’ve also designed other camera-related backpacks and messenger bags including camera accessories such as clips and straps for five years strong now. (Adapted by Lara Eviota)
