“I don’t feel anything. I am anxious but it’s not something that’s making me nervous,” said Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmeña when asked on how he feels knowing the fate of the BRT project is on the line.

This came as the National Economic and Development Authority – Investment Coordination Committee (NEDA-ICC) scheduled a discussion on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project today, April 25.

However, Mayor Osmeña said that he is hopeful for the project to push through despite the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) letter recommending the NEDA-ICC to scrap the BRT Project.

Mayor Osmeña also sent a letter to the NEDA-ICC yesterday answering the DOTr’s reasons on why the BRT should be cancelled stating that the said reasons are baseless.

He also added that it will be useless to speculate on the result of the NEDA-ICC meeting but he confidently said that even the World Bank and ICC is in favor of pushing through with the BRT Project.

“But you’ll never know, there could be hidden hands,” Mayor Osmeña said. (Cebu City PIO/April Jane Ochada/ CNU Communication Intern)
