New Flag Donated to the City of Cebu
Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmeña, during the Flag Ceremony held today at the City Hall grounds, thanked the Suarez Brothers for donating a new Flag for the Cebu City Government.
He said that there are barangay halls & schools, with old flags, and sometimes with no flags at all.
He reminded the employees that “ a Flag is just a piece of cloth but it stands for something. It stands for our nation. So how we show it is a reflection of what we think of our country.”
Osmeña, on the other hand, urged City Hall employees to remain focused on their jobs. “Your job is to serve the people, no more, no less.” With the election period and the ratification of a new constitution coming up, we can expect, there will be a lot of noise.”
He also reminded them that “every time you receive your paycheck, it doesn’t come from Mayor Osmeña. It comes from the people of Cebu. That’s who you owe it to.”
He added that “if you are here, it is because you accepted your situation and you have an obligation to serve.”
