Philippines, Greece Sign MOU on Political Consultations

On the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the Hellenic Republic, Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. del Rosario and Greek Ambassador to the Philippines Constantina Koliou signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs and the Greek Foreign Ministry on the establishment of a mechanism for political consultations.

Secretary Del Rosario noted that it was an auspicious start to the celebration of a milestone year. Diplomatic relations were established on 28 August 1950.

The signing of the MOU caps the tour of duty to the Philippines of Ambassador Koliou. Secretary Del Rosario thanked the Ambassador for her special contribution in the strengthening of bilateral relations, particularly in the maritime and shipping sector.
