LG has finally launched its latest flagship smartphone, the LG G3. The handset has a 5.5-inch Quad-HD (2,560×1,440) display with a pixel density of 538ppi. This sets the smartphone apart from the flagships that its rivals, including Samsung and HTC.

Under the hood, the LG G3 is powered by a quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor featuring 2GB of RAM for its 16GB of onboard storage variant. It is expandable via microSD card of up to 128GB. On the back, there’s a 13MP rear camera aided by enhanced optical image stabilization and a new laser autofocus system. The front-facing 2.1MP camera has a wider aperture and gesture detection to fulfill all your selfie-taking needs. It runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat.

The LG G3 is powered by a 3000mAh removable battery, and features wireless charging support enabled via its optional wireless charger.

The company is touting three ‘smart’ features to provide “Peace of Mind” to the users, namely Smart Keyboard, Smart Notice, and Smart Security. The Smart Keyboard tries to minimize hand and eye movement, with the keyboard able to slide up and down when required. Smart Notice is the LG’s virtual assistant that provides the ‘right notifications at the right time’.

Knock Code is a well-known Smart Security feature that allows you to use a series of taps to wake up and unlock your phone at the same time. The G3 can safely be shared with others temporarily because you can lock content, while giving access to phone functions. If case of theft, LG has added a Kill Switch that will disable your phone. The phone will be remote wiped, remote locked and the phone will be “permanently unusable” says LG.

LG had announced the QuickCircle cases for the smartphone last week. Featuring ‘Smart Lighting’ around the circular window, the QuickCircle cases enable a lock screen UI with special widgets.

The LG G3 will be available in several color variants: Metallic Black, Silk White, Moon Violet, Burgundy Red and Shine Gold.
