Samsung to Launch Galaxy S5 Mini Soon

According to a new report from SamMobile, Samsung will soon launch a mini version of the Galaxy S5.

SamMobile’s anonymous insiders revealed that the Galaxy S5 Mini will come with a 4.5-inch super AMOLED screen, with a resolution of 720p and will run on a Snapdragon 400 chipset quad-core CPU.

Other specs include a 1.5GB RAM, 16GB on-board storage and Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz pre-installed out of the box.

The rear camera is said to come with an 8 megapixel sensor, while the front facing one will have a 2 megapixel sensor.

An infrared blaster and IP67 certification, making it water-resistant, are also expected, as well as a 2,100mAh battery.

There’s no word on whether some of the other features of the Samsung Galaxy S5 – such as the heart rate sensor or fingerprint scanner – will be making it into the Mini version of the phone.

Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on pricing and release date of the Galaxy S5 Mini.
