CCCI Conducts Forum on Asean Economic Integration 2015
How ready is the Philippines or Cebu and the rest of the Central Visayas Region in particular for ASEAN Economic Community 2015. Based on the AEC scorecards, the Philippines only obtained a 73% rating, representing 96 measures out of the total of 131 that needed to be implemented for the period from 2010 to the present. The Philippines also got an overall 71% for investment facilitation and promotion or obviously not a passing grade in terms of awareness and preparedness.

Cabahug St., Mabolo, Cebu City.
More than an awareness initiative, the forum will tackle on discussions at implementing gaps in investment liberalization and facilitation, the establishment of the “National Single Window” to ease customs processes, trade facilitation, and transport and logistics.
The Senior Researchers from the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) will give an overview of the ASEAN Economic Community, and will discuss more specific topics such as infrastructure and logistics, trade liberalization and facilitation, standards and conformance issues and challenges, and AEC impact on Central Visayas business, manufacturing and the agriculture and fisheries sector. The topics to be discussed are relevant for our micro, small and medium enterprises.
