Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Visayas and Mindanao (VisMin) are experiencing unprecedented growth, transforming the region into a vibrant powerhouse of the Philippine digital economy. According to Shopee’s latest report, The State of Digital MSMEs in VisMin, average orders per seller surged by an impressive 51% between 2023 and 2025, while total sales grew by 24%, with Visayan sellers alone recording a 35% increase in orders. This remarkable progress underscores how digital commerce is actively dismantling traditional geographic barriers, allowing provincial businesses to reach customers far beyond their local communities.

In 2025, top VisMin sellers reached buyers in 81 out of 82 Philippine provinces, with over a third of their orders delivered to Luzon. “Entrepreneurial ambitions are no longer constrained by geography,” noted Vincent Lee, Head of Shopee Philippines. To sustain this momentum, sellers are rapidly adopting advanced digital tools to drive engagement and streamline operations. On the engagement front, sales generated through Shopee Video skyrocketed by 209%, while affiliate-driven connections between sellers and creators increased 29-fold. To handle the growing demand, the adoption of the Chat AI Assistant surged 75 times, enabling faster customer service. Meanwhile, the use of Fulfilled by Shopee (FBS) increased 14-fold, providing crucial warehousing and logistics support as businesses scale nationwide and explore regional markets via the Shopee International Platform.

To complement this digital expansion and bridge the gap between online success and real-world community engagement, Shopee brought its “Shopee Live on Wheels” activation to Cebu IT Park on June 27, 2026. This roving truck event offers a vibrant space where shoppers can discover local brands, experience products firsthand, and enjoy interactive games, exclusive live sessions, and event-only discounts.

The Cebu activation highlighted the very success stories driving the VisMin digital boom, featuring local entrepreneurs like Tapiocas and Beans Co., a Cebu-based café and beverage supplier, and Immuni+, a health and wellness brand. Shoppers had the unique opportunity to meet the founders behind these thriving businesses and learn how digital tools have propelled their nationwide reach. The event also showcased Tatak Pinoy, Shopee’s initiative that promotes homegrown brands and locally made products, giving participating makers extra visibility and access to platform-backed promotions.

“As more businesses strengthen their digital capabilities and expand their reach, we remain committed to supporting entrepreneurs through continued investments in technology, seller tools, and solutions that help them reach more customers across the Philippines,” Lee concluded.
