Fooda Saversmart to Bid Farewell after 19 Years
Cebuano supermarket industry staple Fooda Saversmart will bid Cebuanos farewell this year as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to ravage businesses in the province and the economy in general.
The homegrown supermarket brand announced their impending closure on their Facebook page, thanking Cebuanos for their patronage for 19 years, while also announcing a “closing out sale” that will last until September 22, or until supplies last.
“Everything must go at Fooda Saversmart’s CLOSING OUT SALE – ITEMS AT COST OR BELOW for ALL BRANCHES! Up to September 22, 2021 and until supplies last! Thank you for supporting us for the past 19 years!,” the announcement in the Fooda Saversmart Facebook page said.
Netizens have shown sympathy for the supermarket brand, with the closure and sale post garnering 5,000 reactions–most of which sad, along with 2,900 comments, and 5,400 shares as of August 26, 2021 5:00 PM.

Fooda Saversmart currently have five branches. Three of which are located Gen. Maxilom Avenue, V. Rama Avenue in Barangay Guadalupe, and in Barangay Kasambagan in Cebu City.
Other Fooda Saversmart branches are located in Barangay Linao, Talisay City, and in the town of Consolacion in the northern part of Cebu. (GFB)
