PH SEC Wins Global Good Governance Award
The Philippines’ Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) won London-based Cambridge International Financial Advisory’s (CAMBRIDGE IFA) Global Good Governance (3G) Advocacy and Commitment to Corporate Governance Award during the 6th 3G Annual Awards Ceremony held on May 25 virtually.
CAMBRIDGE IFA recognized SEC’s efforts for championing good governance in the corporate sector of the Philippines.
SEC chairperson Emilio Aquino said that the organization was honored to have been awarded.
“The SEC Philippines is truly honored and elated to receive the 3G Advocacy and Commitment to Corporate Governance Award,” He said.
The chairperson then added that the award solidifies the resolve of SEC Philippines in creating a culture of good governance in the business sector of the country.
The 3G Awards was founded in 2016 and recognizes individuals and institutions who place a great importance on governance and sustainability. 3G awards has since presented over 150 awards to various individuals and institutions in more than 25 countries.
Winners for the 3G award are chosen based on five pillars, which are transparency, social responsibility, sustainability, impact, and innovation. Potential winners are also chosen from three major categories –government and politics, corporate sector, and social sector and philanthropy.
SEC has won other awards apart from the 3G award it received.
In 2019, The Commission also received the ISAR Honors from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development for efforts in instituting sustainability reporting in the corporate sector of the Philippines. (GFB)
