Call And SMS Blocking APIs Found In Windows Phone GDR2

While the Windows Phone GDR2 update has made its way onto devices like the Nokia Lumia 925 and the Nokia Lumia 1020, the next iteration of windows phone will be the new set of APIs that will handle SMS and Call blocking, which was found hidden in the code by developer Walking Cat when he attempted to compared the Windows Phone 8 emulator code to that of the GDR2 emulator code.

The software was found to contain APIs for call and SMS blocking with the ability to filter and block specific numbers, numbers not in your phone book, and even phone calls that come from private numbers.

This feature is extended to the SMS messages as well. Unfortunately, these features can’t be found in the Lumia 925 or the Lumia 1020, suggesting that they might have been disabled by carriers, or that they are only accessible by developers.
