40 Houses Burned, 1 Dead in Brgy. Tinago Fire

Just a few days after a fire struck Brgy. Ermita, another fire incident happened early morning today in Sitio Calero M.J Cuenco Avenue Brgy. Tinago Cebu City, February 8, 2019.

The fire set ablaze 40 houses leaving 50 families with 218 individuals homeless.

Cebu City Fire Department, who received the fire alarm at 2:31 am immediately dispatched fire trucks to the area. At 2:38 am, the fire was raised to second alarm then was raised to third alarm at 2:47 am. The fire was declared under control at 3:04 am and was finally declared fire out at 5:38 am.

A man was tagged to be missing but his charred body was found just a few steps away from his house. The victim was identified as Ehjay Fernandez, 30 years old.

The estimated damage of the fire was pegged to be P300,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. (ASC)
