2014 Azkals VS Malaysia Showdown in Cebu

The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) will once again show off before the Cebuano crowd a friendly football match for the Philippine Azkals, this time, against the Malaysian Tigers dubbed as “Face Off 2” on April 27 at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) Football field.

This football match, which is Cebu’s second international friendly match, will be the fourth encounter between the Azkals and the Tigers, where the first three ended in a draw.

Cebu hosted its first international friendly match which drew 1-0 as Azkals defeated the Singapore Lions.

The match, which will be hosted by the Cebu Football Association (CFA), will officially announce a press conference with the grace of the Philippine Azkals team manager Dan Palami and head coach Thomas Dooley this Sunday April 13, 2014 at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Ricky Dakay, CFA president, said Cebu could be the lucky charm for the national men’s senior team as the friendly encounter will be the Azkals’ last tune up match before it leaves for Maldives for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge Cup.

“We are very fortunate the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) chose Cebu for this very important friendly giving us a chance to send off the Azkals before they leave for Maldives. We are very priviliged to get this chance,” said Dakay in a press conference last Sunday.

Azkals, this time, will be hoping to rule against Tigers not to end the match with a draw.

Tickets prices will be ranging from P400 to P2,500. It will once again be sold at the SM Tickets. More ticket outlets will announce soon.
