2 Dead, 6 Arrested, P8-M Worth Shabu in Talisay
Two brothers are downed and six are arrested in a buy-bust operation around 7:45 a.m. in Sitio Mangilamon, Brgy. Jaclupan, Talisay City December 18, 2018.
Operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) and Talisay City Police conducted the buy-bust operation in the area.
The target of the operation, Rodrigo Alvarez and his brother Victor Alvarez were killed in a shootout after the Alvarez brothers shot the operatives first.
Both were immediately brought to Talisay District Hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
Rodrigo and Victor Alvarez both live in Spolarium St., Brgy. Duljo Fatima, Cebu City but operates the drug business in Brgy. Jaclupan.
Six alleged drug peddlers were also arrested in the operation namely Wilfredo Narciso, 46; Nielrinz Francisco, 26; Kevin Vitor, 18; Christopher Infiesto, 29; Jackson Ogong, 35; and Randel Añabiza, 27.
18 packs of suspected shabu that weighed 1.2 kilograms with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P8,160,000 were recovered in the scene.
Also recovered in the operation were 2 caliber .45 pistol, P12,000 buy-bust money, digital weighing scale, drug packing paraphernalias, P25,000 proceeds money. (Aljun S. Cainghog)
