1783 Barangay Workers In Three Towns Grateful For The Incentives

What used to be an ordinary day for the 591 barangay workers in the town of Tabogon turned out to be a special one. This, after the Cebu Provincial Government headed by Vice Governor Agnes Magpale distributed more than P1 million cash assistance to the barangay frontliners namely health workers, nutrition scholars, day care center workers, animal health aides and barangay tanods in the town.

The 187 health workers, 36 day care center workers, and 21 nutrition scholars received 2,400 each, while animal health aides and tanods received 1,500 each. A total of P 1,106,000 was given to the barangay service providers in Tabogon.

barangayMagpale expressed her thankfulness to the barangay workers by saying “Giila namo ang inyong giabag nga pagtabang sa barangay ug amo gayud nang gipasalamatan. Bisan gamay lang kining incentive nga inyong madawat, hinaot ikalipay kini ninyo.”

For Monena Inhog, 56 -year old, a barangay health worker for three years now, the cash assistance that she received will be spent for the family’s grocery needs. “Mapasalamaton kaayo ko sa mga tawo nga nagpaluyo niini nga distribution kay dako na kaayo kini og ikatabang namo mga volunteers,” said Inhog.

Meanwhile, a total of P1,104,000 million was given to the barangay workers in the city of Bogo which will benefit 34 day care center workers, 29 nutrition scholars, 10 animal health aides, 223 health workers and 269 tanods.

For San Remigio, P1,232,700 million benefited the 37 day care center workers, 26 nutrition scholars, 12 animal health aides, 245 health workers, and 297 tanods.

PB member Celestino Martinez III, Tabogon Mayor Seigfred Duterte, Bogo City Mayor Celestino Martinez Jr., and San Remigio Mayor Mariano Martinez and some municipal and barangay officials also attended the distribution.

During the distribution, PB member Celestino Martinez disclosed that the provincial government is planning to include barangay mediators or lupon in the distribution of cash assistance. “Hinaot nga kining atong plano nga maghatag usab og kalipay sa mga lupon, mahitabo kini sa umaabot nga mga adlaw”, said Martinez. At present, aside from the cash that the barangay workers get, they will also receive uniform shirts.
