10 Flights Cancelled Due to Bad Weather

Bad weather due to typhoon “Lando” (international name: Koppu) prompted the cancellation of 10 domestic flights on Monday, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said in an advisory.

Flights cancelled include 2P 2196(Manila-Laoag), 2P 2197 (Laoag-Manila), 2P 2198 (Manila-Laoag), and 2P 2199 (Laoag-Manila). These flights belong to PAL Express.

Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific also cancelled flights 5J 196 (Manila-Cauayan), 5J 197 (Cauayan-Manila), 5J 504 (Manila-Tuguegarao), and 5J 505 (Tuguegarao-Manila).

Skyjet also cancelled flights M8 816 (Manila-Basco), and M8 817 (Basco-Manila).

State-run weather bureau PAGASA earlier predicted stormy weather expected over the Cordillera region, provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, La Union, Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan islands.

Meanwhile, rains with gusty winds will prevail over Pangasinan, Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, rest of Cagayan valley and Metro Manila.

PAGASA also said that cloudy skies with light to moderate rains will be experienced over Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula and the rest of Luzon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country. (PNA) JMC/ANP
