Together with the launching was also the blessing of the new Aoike classroom located at the second floor of the College of Business, Arts and Sciences (CBAS) building, where the Japanese language classes will be held.

The Aoike Academy constructed the classroom and provided the needed equipment for the program, while the BISU provided the space for the classroom, as their counterpart.

During the program, Pobar thanked the Aoike Academy for selecting BISU as their partner for this program and expressed hope for more collaboration.

“I know this is just the beginning of more partnerships, so we have to grab this chance for this is a prelude to greater opportunities abroad,” Pobar said.

In response, Aoike also expressed his gratitude to the BISU president and all the faculty and staff for the opportunity to introduce the Nihongo For Me program which he said is an introductory program for those who want to study Japanese language.

“Upon finishing this program with high honors, students will be given the opportunity to study further and eventually have the opportunity to work in Japan,” Aoike assured.

Mary Therese Mepieza, Quennie Lyn Ancog, Gresille Cahayag, Leizl Baguhin, Velle Claudette Alegarbes, Angelica Diaz and Gwen Nacorda received their certificate of admission and recognition during the program as seven of the 10 first batches who will undergo the 2 months intensive language training that will start on April 8.

The “Nihongo For Me” Japanese language program is an extension activity under the CBAS under its dean, Dr. Aida Casas and with Dr. Allan Paul Sandigan as the focal person.
