The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPRCV) recently named AMA Education System (AMAES) as its official information technology partner for the 2019 Philippine Mid-Term Elections. The announcement is a renewal of ties between the two organizations having previously sealed a partnership over the last three elections.

The poll watchdog welcomes the partnership anew and stresses the importance of educational institutions being a part of ensuring a clean and honest electoral process as they play an integral role in helping shape the minds of today’s youth.

“We are delighted to again partner with AMAES in fulfilling our mandate as the citizens arm for responsible for voter education, poll watching, and parallel quick count. By working with their network of schools, we are able to interact with students and help inform and share with them the importance of the electoral process and why we as citizens should ensure its integrity,” said Myla Villanueva, Chairperson of the PPCRV.

As information technology partner, AMAES will be providing desktop computers to be used for the parallel quick count. Video conferencing facilities at their different campuses and software used for the school’s Blended Learning program will also be shared for volunteer training and communication between PPCRV’s operations across the country. Teachers and student volunteers will also help in poll watching and incident reporting.

“The volunteer force, equipment, and facilities from AMAES greatly helps in speeding up the work and extend PPCRV’s capability to cover different areas before and during the mid-term elections,” added Villanueva.

For its part, AMAES is also glad to extend its equipment and expertise honed by years of experience in the field of IT education in helping the PPCRV fulfill its mandate.

“As educators, we highly believe in our civic duty to be part of ensuring that the electoral process remain clean and honest. Given our capabilities as the country’s pioneer in IT education, we wish to impart our knowledge and equipment to also inspire both our teachers and students to be responsible citizens,” said Ambassador Amable R. Aguiluz V, Founder and Chairman of AMA Education System, recognized as the Father of IT Education in the Philippines.
