PVO Sets Month-Long Vet Missions
The Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO), under the leadership of Dr. Rose Vincoy, has lined up a month-long veterinary missions throughout the province.
According to Vincoy, they extended the schedule for the vet missions this month since there is a need to protect the animals from the prolonged heat caused by El Niño and summer is the ideal time to conduct vaccinations and other services to pets and large animals.
Apart from vaccinations and deworming services, there will also be spay services for male dogs or cats and neuter (ligation) services for female dogs or cats.
“For large animals, mas maayo nga ang owners are aware if ang animal is pregnant ky there are certain vaccines, medicines nga dili pwede ihatag sa buntis, and at the same time, they should be aware when was the last time nakadawat og treatment ang animal para dili mag balik2x ang information,” she said.
The PVO head advised owners to check with their nearest local veterinary office to know the do’s and dont’s before submitting their pets or large animals for surgery.
Usually, Vincoy said that animals or pets may qualify to undergo neuter or ligation services when they reach six months old or mature enough for the procedure.
“We have different services for this month. We have vaccinations for dogs and cats, spay and neuter activities, as well as veterinary missions for our large animals, poultry, and pigs,” she said.
Here are the following veterinary mission schedules: April 2 to 4–Tudela; April 4 & 5 –Badian; April 12– Barili; April 24 & 25–Asturias; April 25 & 26–Ronda; April 25–Borbon; & April 26–City of Naga.
