DSWD-7 Opens Gov’t Internship Prog for 2019
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Central Visayas announced that they are now accepting applicants for the Government Internship Program (GIP) for 2019.
The program aims to provide the youth with the chance to acquire life skills and learn disciplines and etiquettes related to labor and employment while earning a stipend good for 30 days that may help them for their daily school sustenance in the coming school year.
The minimum requirements are: applicants should be 18-25 years old; of good health; a high school graduate; a TESDA Certificate holder or has attended the Ladderized Education Program (LEP) with a family monthly income not to exceed the existing poverty threshold which is P9,063.75; and a member of Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) or a youth of family under the PantawidPamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
Interested applicants may visit the Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) offices in their provinces and look for their respective SWAD team leaders.
The following are the SWAD team leaders for each province in Region 7: Ligaya Dael for Cebu, Rhea Marie Tubongbanua for Bohol, Jenny Egagamao for Negros Oriental, and Michelle Ylaya for Siquijor.
Deadline for submission of applications is on March 29, 2019.
