President Rodrigo Duterte revealed on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 that Ashley Abad, the 19 year-old who died on a drug overdose on January was the source of the drug that brought her demise.
Ashley Abad attended a pre-Sinulog party on Cebu on January 19 and fell unconscious. She was brought to the hospital but died the next day of drug overdose.
Duterte said it in his speech after he met with Ashley’s parents.
“Nag-reklamo sila, they want justice. Pero nakita nila, na-recover ng forensics examination pati ‘yung… She was the one who was actually texting another girl na maghati sila doon kasi ‘yung isa, reserba niya para sa kanyang boyfriend, ‘yung missing until now,” the President said.
(They complained, saying they want justice but they saw what the forensic examinations recovered… She was the one who was actually texting another girl that they will share and reserve the other one for her boyfriend, who was missing until now.)
Duterte sympathized with the parents grief said he wanted to cry with them as a parent he was hurt that their child had to go that way.
Nel Spencer Tiu appeared to Cebu City police and denied the allegations that he gave Ashley the party drug.
Tiu, the boyfriend of Ashley Abad, tried to evade the cops but gave up ultimately and surrendered himself to the authorities. (ASC)
