One Arrested at Pier, Drug-Bust Yields P.5M Shabu on a New Years Eve
A 28 year old suspect was arrested in possession of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride locally known as “shabu” on a New Year’s Eve in Passenger Terminal 1 at Pier 1, Cebu City.
Around 2:15 pm operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office (PDEA RO) 7, Tourist Police Unit and personnels from Cebu Ports Authority discovered three packs of suspected shabu which in weighed 0.3 grams from the suspect while they were inspecting baggages in the said area.
The 28 year old suspect was identified as Valerie Gorit Savedon a resident of Brgy. Basak, San Nicolas, Cebu City.
Savedon is supposed to board a ship bound for Cagayan De Oro but was arrested in the Port Area.
On the same day multiple anti-illegal drug operations were conducted in various areas in Cebu City that led to the confiscation of almost half a million worth of drugs.
The multiple anti-illegal drug operations yielded 62.03 grams of suspected shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P423,928. (Aljun S. Cainghog)
