284 Workers Recognized in Capitol’s PRAISE Awards
For serving the Cebu Provincial Government for 40 years, a 62-year-old employee was recognized during the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) held at the Capitol Social Hall on Wednesday, Dec. 12.
“Ako gyud gipakita nilang tanan ang ako ra gyud serbisyo nga tinarong ug magbinut-an sa trabaho,” said 62-year-old Alberto Montebon after receiving the plaque of appreciation. He is assigned at the Provincial Engineering Office.
Montebon was one of the 284 employees who received the loyalty award from the Cebu Provincial Government.
Vice Gov. Agnes A. Magpale and Mrs. Jobel Angan-Davide, the wife of Gov. Hilario P. Davide III, led the PRAISE Awards organized by the Provincial Administrator’s Department and Human Resources and Management Office.
“Today is the celebration of your efforts, of your diligence, of your innovative ideas–of your exemplary performance as the highly valued workforce of the Cebu Provincial Government,” Davide said in his message read by his wife during the ceremony.
“We will also award today employees who have served 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of continuous and satisfactory service as well as retired Capitol employees,” read Davide’s message.
Magpale, meanwhile, said the years of service rendered by these Capitol employees only shows that they are happy with their jobs as they would not have lasted this long in government service.
“Let me just congratulate you all in this very special day for all of us,” Magpale said in her speech.
Magpale was assisted by Mrs. Davide, Provincial Administrator Mark Tolentino, Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) head Bonifer Nacorda and Provincial Employees Association of Cebu (Peace) president Maritess Redoble in distributing the awards.
Magpale also handed over certificates of appreciation to 297 employees who did not incur any absences or those who did not incur a single tardiness for this year, as well as the 24 retired Capitol personnel.
Capitol employees who received national awards were also recognized during the ceremony.
“Allow me to commend our Human Resource Office headed by Bobby Nacorda for coming up with this event. This would not only merely give our awardees cash prizes for their good performance, but it will greatly boost their morale as professionals, as public servants,” read Davide’s message.
