Team Philippines Hailed Champs in Castrol Asia Pacific Bikes Super Mechanic Contest 2018
Team Philippines bagged the title in Castrol Asia Pacific Super Mechanic Contest 2018 as they beat other mechanics from India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia last November 14 to 15 this year in Bangkok, Thailand.
Cebu-based Drake’s Motor Parts composed of Julius Maranga, Georekey Cantabaco, Gabriel Hidalgo Jr. and owner John Ceniza won the 2017 Castrol’s Partner for Life Program, an annual search for the Philippines best mechanics to represent the country in the Asia Pacific Bikes Super Mechanic Contest 2018.
Coming as an underdog, The team said it was a big honor to represent the country and are very happy we end up being the champions against the finest of Asia Pacific.
Drake’s Motor Parts mechanics has been working together for years said that their edge against their opponents was their teamwork and synergy. Their expertise in electrical and engine repair help them propel them to first place, only winning by a few minutes to the defending champions,Team Vietnam.
Meanwhile, another Cebu-based team may represent the country for the Castrol Asia Pacific Bikes Super Mechanic Contest 2019 as they won this year’s national finals.
Team Philippines will be represented by Super Racing Cycle Enterprise composed of Mechanics Diomedes Cogay, Ernesto Gualiza, Roldan Cogay, and motorcycle shop owner Jonard Tan.
