11th RCE Global Conference Held in Cebu

The 11th RCE Global Conference which focuses on the SDGs of the United Nations was held on December 7-8 at the University of the Philippines Cebu (UP-Cebu).

Delegates from different regions came to the conference and shared their programs in addressing different Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) also known as global goals are actions to address poverty, protecting the planet, and maintain peace and prosperity.

In the opening session on the first day of the conference, Vice President Leni Robredo gave her video message and Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmeña also gave his welcome remarks and keynote speech in the event which was followed by the different plenary sessions. People, Prosperity, and Planet were discussed in the Parallel sessions and a welcome dinner hosted by the Cebu City government ended the first day of the conference

Regional parallel sessions were conducted in the second day of the event along with workshop sessions with themes of primary and secondary education, higher education and TVET, and community education. The closing plenary was held in the afternoon. A farewell dinner hosted by the Cebu Provincial government the 11th RCE Global Conference ended with an award giving ceremony.

Delegates were then toured in the Aloguinsan Eco-River and also in the different tourist spots in Cebu City on the third day.

The 11th RCE Global Conference is a 3 day event and was held at the University of the Philippines. (Aljun S. Cainghog)
