Capitol Kicks Off Nat’l Drug Prevention Week with a Color Fun Run
The Cebu Provincial Government started the National Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week celebration with the “3rd Run Free, Be Drug Free Color Fun Run” held at the Capitol grounds early morning Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018.
The Color Fun Run was spearheaded by the Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CPADAO), in partnership with the Cebu Provincial Sports Commission (CPSC).
Dondi Van Torres, timed at 17 minutes and 18 seconds, took the lead, followed by Johnfel Gaco and Faith Quimbo at second and third, respectively, for men’s division.
Azalea de Jesus in the women’s division bagged the first place, with the best time of 20 minutes and 43 seconds, besting Marivic Mari and Linajane Aluba.
Each participant walked, jogged and ran the five-kilometer loop from the Capitol grounds to N. Escario Ave. down to Gorordo Ave. all the way to JY Square in Barangay Lahug then back to the Capitol Compound as the Color Fun Run celebration ended with a blast.
Most of the participants expressed their excitement hoping for another similar but better event as they took unending photos of themselves with a smile on their faces.
