TROPICAL DEPRESSION “SAMUEL” HAS MAINTAINED ITS STRENGTH AS IT CONTINUES TO MOVE TOWARD THE DINAGAT-SAMAR-LEYTE AREA.
- Moderate to heavy rains which may trigger flooding and landslides, are expected over Caraga Region, Northern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Central and Western Visayas and Bicol Region. Residents of these areas, especially those living near or in river channels, low-lying and mountainous areas, are advised to take precautionary measures, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates.
- Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the areas under TCWS #1 and the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon.
- “SAMUEL” is expected to make landfall over the Dinagat-Samar-Leyte area tonight.
Location of eye/center: At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “SAMUEL” was estimated based on all available data at 395 km East of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte (09.7 °N, 129.1 °E)
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 65 km/h

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next Severe Weather Bulletin to be issued at 8 AM today.
