1 Dead, 18 houses Totally Burned in Lorega Fire
A paralyzed man was found dead after a fire struck Sitio San Miguel, Brgy. Lorega, Cebu City on Wednesday, November 14.
The alarm was received by the fire department at 2:58 in the afternoon, which was then raised to third alarm at 3:08 P.M. and was put under control at 3:27 P.M.
Amado Maglinte, 52 who was said to be paralyzed was found dead after the fire.
According to Nagiel Bañacia, head of Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, said that 18 houses were totally burned.
The fire displaced 52 families with 195 individuals.
The Department of Social Welfare Services (DSWS) will conduct a validation to finalize the report on affected families, Bañacia said in his Facebook post.
Cebu City Fire Station pegged the damages caused by the fire to be P600,000.
The cause of the fire is still to be determined as of press time. (Aljun S. Cainghog)
