SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 AM today, the eye of Typhoon KONG-REY outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) was estimated at 1,565 km East of Southern Luzon (15.4N, 136.2E) with maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 160 km/h. Moving West Northwest at 15 km/h.
FORECAST: Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the trough of TY KONG-REY. Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and the rest of Visayas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest to West will prevail over the eastern section of Visayas and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Meanwhile, light to moderate winds blowing from the Southwest to west will prevail over Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and the rest of Visayas with slight to moderate seas.
