120 Reservists Finish 45-Day Training
Lt. Col. Billy O. Dela Rosa, the Commander of the 51st Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, presented and turned-over to the Local Government Unit of Iligan the 120 reservists who finished the 45-day Special CAFGU Action Auxilliary (SCAA) Force Training on September 3, 2018 at Anahaw Amphitheatre, Brgy. Pala-o, Iligan City.
“I believe we are comfortable that the strong members of 4thSCAA Company will protect the interest of the people of Iligan City,” Commander Dela Rosa said.
He emphasized that it is their primary mission to perform the mandate of protecting the interest of the local government units of Iligan City.
“I hope this will be core part of our anti-terrorism campaign,” he added.
To counter the threats of terrorism, Dela Rosa said that “We need a strong partnership with the military, local government units and all the sectors of the community.”
He also recounted the recent bombings at Isulan, Sultan Kudarat saying that it might also happen in Iligan City. SCAA is really a big help to enhance the security in the City.
The volunteer reservists were called upon, screened and trained on July 16 to September 1, 2018 at the CAFGU (Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit) Training Center in Brgy. Pikalawag, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte.
The SCAA qualified volunteers also had a SCAA Basic Military Training at Camp Pintoy, Suarez, Iligan City before they were sent to an intense training.
Basic Military Training included marksmanship, intelligence gathering, security enforcement, among others.
This endeavour is done through the support of LGU Iligan particularly through Councilor Ian C. Uy, the chairperson on the committee of Peace and Order, and Public Safety.
Dela Rosa announced that another batch of qualified volunteers is set to undergo a SCAA Training starting this week. (PIA-LDN)
