Organizers of the 2018 AAA Renaissance Cebuana announced the final top 15 candidates, where one of them will soon be declared as the ambassadress of the Cebu Provincial Women’s Commission (PWC).

The 15 candidates, who will move on to the final round this Aug. 31, are Syvil Jane Ancheta (Consolacion), Marjorie Bolutano (Carcar City), Hanna Mae Choa (Balamban), Killiaen Marie Ferrer (Daanbantayan), Cianza Pearl Gutierrez (Tudela), Ana Fe Isok (Pinamungajan), Katherine Jumapao (Liloan), Kimberly Lumayag (Argao), Gretel Majorenos (Danao City), Weeklecia Manondo (Carcar City), Marvie Matura (Mandaue City), Lorielen Paglinawan (Tuburan), Wilpe Anne Papa (Alegria), Debby Maeh Site (Bogo City), and Wella Jane Ybas (Carcar City).

The candidates were also briefed on what they would go through during the finale, which would highlight their Artistic skills. The pageant kicked off last June 9 with a marathon to test the candidates’ Athletic side, and was followed by a quiz bee challenge last June 23 for the Academic level of the pageant.

The marathon had over 700 participants, which were eventually trimmed down to less than a hundred contestants. Then the number was further reduced to 32 candidates who qualified for the next phase, where they had to record short videos to discuss their advocacies. These videos were posted on Facebook for a month for online voting. The results of the voting, plus their scores in previous rounds, resulted in the top final 15.

During the finale, Vice Gov. Magpale said that the 15 candidates will undergo a series of interviews, which will be done in five test segments–during the Sportswear Fashion, the Hablon Fabric Wear, within the Talent Show, during Evening Gown Wear, and in the Question and Answer.

With Magpale during the announcement was Melanie Ng of the Ng Khai Development Corp. and former president of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), which is one of the main organizers of the event, along with the PWC, Provincial Sports Commission, and other departments of the Capitol.

Apart from being the PWC ambassador, the winner of the pageant will get P100,000, plus an international trip for two. The first runner-up will get P40,000, while the second runner-up will get P20,000. The remaining 12 finalists will get P10,000 each.

The Search for the 2018 AAA Renaissance Cebuana aims to promote the rights of women and highlight women empowerment in the Province of Cebu. This is a program that will showcase the Cebuana’s strength & endurance, hard work & intelligence, and multi-faceted talent & skills. (CEBU PROV GOV’T)
