Mabatid and Allies Boycott ABC Elections, BOPK Landslide Win
BANDO Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) swept the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) elections in Cebu City, July 30, 2018 after Mabolo Barangay Captain Prisca Niña Mabatid and her allies boycotted the election at Bayfront Hotel on July 30, 2018.
Mayor Tomas was said to be spotted at the venue which sparked the boycott of Mabatid and her allies.
Mabatid became shrouded in controversy when she physically assaulted a hotel worker at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City last June 19, 2018 that caused her to be kicked out of BOPK.
BOPK’s candidate for ABC President Kasambagan Brgy. Franklin Ong, as well as his running mate for Vice-President, Labangon Brgy. Captain Victor Buendia won with 51 votes.
BOPK’s Pahina Brgy Captain Carlo Yap also won as ABC auditor.
