8T Jobs Made Available at Capitol Overseas Job Fair
Over 8,000 job vacancies were opened during the overseas job fair organized by the Cebu Provincial Government held at the Capitol Social Hall last July 8.
Nine applicants were hired on the spot, with some of them coming from the neighboring Provinces of Bohol and Negros Occidental. The vacancies came from 31 job agencies verified by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
In order to have a smooth flow of application process during the event, more than a thousand applicants pre-registered at the Provincial Employment Service Office (PESO) website.
Job opportunities are posted on the website at http://peso.cebu.gov.ph/ whole-year round.
One of the pre-registrants, Analyn Garzon, 34, arrived at lunchtime and has finished applying to four various job vacancies at around 4 p.m.
“Dali og paspas ra jud. Mapasalamaton ko sa mga job fair nga parehas ani kay mas matagaan mi og opportunidad nga maka-trabaho (It was a smooth and easy application process for me. I am grateful for job fairs such as this one, as this opens more opportunities to people like me),” Garzon said.
The overseas job fair also served as a one-stop-shop for those who wish to avail themselves of the services from government’s line agencies, such as Land Transportation Office (LTO), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
This year, the Capitol scheduled three overseas and three local job fairs.
