4Ps Beneficiaries Set for ‘Graduation’

At least 20,000 beneficiaries of the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Central Visayas are set to graduate in December this year.

Brigieda Goron of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-7), said the graduates are from the 10 barangays in Cebu City and seven from municipalities of Negros Oriental. She explained that by graduation means that these individuals will “level up” to another program of the government, and they will no longer receive the conditional cash transfer. She said they have already been introduced to new livelihood programs.

A 4Ps beneficiary is entitled a P300 educational assistance for each child and P500 health aid for every family. The DSWD identifies these beneficiaries.

Based on the records of the DSWD7, there are  837 beneficiaries in Cebu City who availed of the livelihood program.
