New PRO-6 Chief Bares Plans for WV

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to be on the move to intensify its campaign to combat criminality and illegal drugs.

This was mentioned during the turn-over of command of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 here on June 5.

Chief Superintendent John C. Bulalacao, the newly-installed officer-in-charge of PRO-6, stressed that he would like to comply with all the instructions of the PNP Chief, particularly in sustaining their efforts to lower the incidence of illegal drugs involvement of his constituents and internal cleansing.

For his first month of service, his concrete plans on bringing up more disciplined cops include monitoring their actions and requiring provincial directors to replicate such as instructed by the PNP Chief.

The mechanism to address the issue is to investigate expeditiously so that those violators will be proven to have indeed committed the violations and would immediately be sanctioned either by suspension, demotion or separation from service.

In a press conference held at the PRO-6 headquarters, Bulalacao relayed the orders of the PNP Chief which are focused on the intensification of the campaign against rogue members of the PNP and part of the process is to discipline the people under his command.

“He even told me to hit the ground running and this is what I will do,” Bulalacao added.

Part of the directive are activities that police officers should avoid and/or prohibited to do which include entering cockpits or any gambling dens, smoking while in uniform, texting while on duty and other moonlighting activities.

He also said that he will continue and adopt the programs former Regional Director Binag has started, acknowledging the fact that the band “Mandirigma” organized by him was recognized by Camp Crame.

“Aside from the orders of Camp Crame, yung mapantayan ko yung mga accomplishments niya (pertaining to Binag) dito is another challenge for me,” he added. (LTP/Cedie Bataga-Intern/PIA6-Iloilo)
