Curfew on Cebu City Pushed Following Gang Related Incidents
“The implementation of curfew is one factor that could address the problem of gang related incidents as well as sustain peace and order in the barangays ,” Cebu City Councilor David Tumulak stressed.
This issue was raised after nine youths, ages 9-15 years old, from Barangay Apas, was reportedly involved in gang related incidents and allegedly found to be using marijuana during the rescue.
He added that this gang issue has been circulating and may be experienced in almost all the barangays in the city, but it is up to the barangay officials to find solutions on what move to take in addressing the problem.
In response to the issue of the delay of allowances of the city policemen from January to March this year, Tumulak said that it is not the city’s responsibility to check on their documents. It is the duty of their Admin Office to check on their papers before submitting it to the City Accounting Office so that the processing will go on smoothly.
He added that they should also visit the accounting office from time to time so they will know if there are lacking documents needed to support their claim. (Cebu City PIO/Margie P. Bulado /CNU Communication Intern)
