Preparations for this year’s Devotee City during the Sinulog 2018 celebration are now underway.

Devotee City is an annual program that caters to devotees of the Señor Santo Niño from all over the province and nearby islands who come to Cebu City to join the Sinulog observation.

The Devotee City provides free accommodation to out-of-town devotees who do not have a place to stay in the city during the Sinulog celebration.

Devotee City 2018 Chairman Engr. Roberto Cabarrubias, who is also the head of the city’s Department of Public Services, said preparations are in place to set-up the container vans that will be used as temporary shelters of the devotees.

The Devotee City operations this year will be held at the vacant lot where the Compaña Maritima stands, a few meters away from the Cebu City Hall and the Basilica Minore Del Santo Niño.

Devotees will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.

They will be asked to present their bus, boat, or plane tickets upon registration.

Devotees can stay in the facility until the 453rd Fiesta Señor celebration on January 21. (rmn/PIA7-Cebu with reports from Greggy Senados, Cebu City PIO)
