Davide Vows Completion of Prov’l Hospital in Danao
Cebu Governor Hilario P. Davide III gave the go signal to proceed with the completion of the Provincial Hospital in Danao City, northern Cebu, which construction work was halted years ago due to lack of authority from the previous Provincial Board.
He said that aside from proceeding with the construction, Capitol will also add more medical professionals and equipment for the 50-bed capacity medical facility.
“Atong ayohon, i-improve ang serbisyo dinhi, pun-an og mga doctor ug palitan og mga ekipo,” Davide told senior citizens of Barangay Suba, Danao City.
Davide said the work will start by December.
This year, Capitol allocated P881.9 million for hospital services and upgrade. Davide said that Capitol has set aside a total of P1.6 billion for hospitals and health services programs in the proposed P4.5-billion 2018 budget.
Meanwhile, Davide and Vice Governor Agnes A. Magpale personally handed out kilos of packed rice, canned goods, noodles and milk cartons to senior citizens in Barangays Suba, Looc, Sabang, Maslog in Danao City as part of the Capitol’s assistance to the elderly.
There are 3,022 listed senior citizens in these four barangays, but some who were not listed came for their food packs, increasing the listed number to more than 10 percent.
“Sa Barangay Looc naa mi gi-andam nga 800 ka food pack, pero nay dugang 200 ang niabot,” said Magpale. She prepared extra food packs to include those who were not in the list.
Davide and Magpale thanked Danao City Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III and his city councilors who assisted in the distribution in all four barangays.
“Hangtod ang gobernador ug ako naglingkod mag-anam kadaghan ang inyong madawat sa Halad,” Magpale told senior citizens in one of the halad barangays.
Davide promised to add vitamins and liniments on the food packs given to each senior citizen beneficiary.
“Mohangyo ko nga kung duna moy problema o reklamo sa atong Provincial Hospital isumbong kanako o kang bise gobernador Magpale kay among atimanon,” Davide told the senior citizens.
Health and Social Services is one of Davide’s six key development agenda. The other five are countryside development; education and vocational training; environment protection; infrastructure; and law and order.
The 6-key development agenda is geared towards the administration’s goal of inclusive growth, better known as “Kalambuan sa Matag Sugbuanon.”
