Bohol Guv Thanks Biz Group for Finalist Tag

Bohol Governor Edgar Chatto on Tuesday expressed his gratitude to the local business sector for its efforts to place Bohol among the 14 finalists in the search for Most Business-Friendly Province by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).

Chatto said the province would not have been able to achieve such feat without the concept of shared leadership, which has brought Bohol to where it is today.

“Our collaboration in Bohol, being nationally highlighted and recognized, is already an achievement,” the governor said.

Bohol’s advantage is how it managed to recover from the devastating earthquake four years ago and become a stalwart in business, especially in tourism.

According to the Capitol’s Effective Development Communication (Edcom) agency, other finalist provinces include Aklan, Bataan, Bulacan, Cavite, Cebu, Davao del Norte, Isabela, La Union, Negros Occidental, Pangasinan, South Cotabato, and Tarlac.

The winners will be announced on Thursday, the agency said.

Chatto considers being a finalist already an achievement, saying it is an “instant endorsement” of the province to attract potential investors.

“More investors will find Bohol because the PCCI recognition is a testimony that our collaboration is working,” he said.

The PCCI presented Chatto a plaque recognizing Bohol’s finalist status in the search.

During the presentation for the final judging, the governor was assisted by Provincial Planning and Development officer John Titus Vistal, Bohol Investment Promotions Center head Ma. Fe Dominise, consultant Linda Paredes, and BIPC research assistants Emerson Pinos and Gian Lamdagan, said the Edcom. (Dave Albarado/PNA)
