Palace Explains Delays of Teachers’ Bonuses
The late submission of documents and other requirements by some schools could be to blame for the delays in the payment of performance bonuses for several public school teachers, Malacañang said Sunday according to Gma news online.
Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte, in an interview over dzRB, has said that there are still schools who have not submitted their performance report. “Meron pa kasing iskwelahan na hindi pa nag-submit ng performance report. Naantala ang mga performance bonus ng guro,” said Valte, citing information from the Department of Education.
The Online news reported that Valte reassured public school teachers who have not received their performance bonuses dating back to last year that the government has not forgotten them.
Valte also disputed claims that the government has forgotten the teachers in favor of employees of the Department of Public Works and Highways, who President Benigno Aquino said will receive an anniversary bonus, the Online news said.
“As we explained in the past, hindi sabay-sabay nakukuha ang PBB (performance-based bonus). Depende sa compliance ng ahensya sa documentary requirements para ma-evaluate ang performance ng unit at bureau,” Valte said.
Valte has said that upon submission of the documents, government employees – including teachers – will be assessed for their performance, gma news online reported.
