Bautista Encourages QC Women to Become Entrepreneurs
Mayor Herbert Bautista encouraged women in Quezon City to become entrepreneurs.
“Creating more entrepreneurs is one of the key solutions to address the lack of employment opportunities in the city,” Bautista said during the Quezon City Women Entrepreneur’s Forum recently held at the Quezon City Performing Arts Theatre.
The mayor said that he is determined to provide more economic opportunities to women in QC in a bid to encourage them to become entrepreneurs.
He also underscored the need to teach women, especially homemakers, how to avail themselves of livelihood opportunities from the city government.
Councilor Irene Belmonte, who also sits as chairman of the QC Council’s Committee on Trade, Commerce and Industry, has also invited representatives from key national and local government agencies to provide information on their programs and services.
Among the national government agencies which participated in the forum were the Department of Trade and Industry, Social Security System, PhilHealth, TESDA, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Science and Technology and the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
The forum also served as venue for a consultative session relative to the passage of a proposed ordinance principally authored by Councilor Belmonte on Women Entrepreneurship. (QC PAISO/RJB/SDL/PIA-NCR)
