Policemen arrested dismissed policeman Jeofrey  Borinaga after he was accused as the gunman of traffic enforcer Armando Daligdig who was shot and killed by a motorcycle-riding gunman while the victim was manning the traffic along Governor Mariano Cuenco Avenue in Barangay Banilad Thursday  morning.

Daligdig, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his head and chest, was declared dead upon arrival at the Vicente Gullas Hospital.

Investigation conducted by the responding policemen led to the arrest of Borinaga at his apartment in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City and when he was brought to the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) an eyewitness said Borinaga’s physical appearance is similar to the gunman.

Recovered from Borinaga’s house includes a .45 caliber pistol with seven rounds of ammunition, an Enduro motorcycle and several other items.

Cebu City police director Mariano Natuel said Borinaga’s firearm will be subjected to a ballistic test while Borinaga himself would be required to undergo a paraffin test to find out whether he had fired a gun.

Although Borinaga denied the accusation, but the policemen detained him at Camp Sotero Cabahug for further interrogation. Natuel believed that the traffic enforcer had a misunderstanding with other person who might hired Borinaga to kill the enforcer.
